"Perpetual Bike Crash brings together the unique and insightful voices of Francisco Garrido(Tzara the Machine), Micheal Murray(mimu) and Joshua Lutz(halfpastseven). Their voices blend together seamlessly and a rich tapestry of sound emanates from these three distinct voices moving together as one organic movement of sound. Approaching the music as both musicians and producers, they deconstruct and combine influences of indie, ambient, electronic and film music through Francisco’s compositions. Raised in a household of photographers, there is a strong presence of visual narratives that runs throughout Francisco’s entire body of work. This visual perspective has become one of the common threads that define Perpetual Bike Crash, leading to a unique aesthetic narrative rich in textures and soundscapes.

 

All members coming from different places in the world (Germany, Ireland and Venezuela) found a common space in the Netherlands. Based in Amsterdam, the trio has been active for three years, playing in venues such as Bimhuis, Splendor, Stadsklooster and many others. Their debut album “The Inside of an Airplane Engine” was recorded independently in Joshua’s home studio. The group recorded all of the music live in three sessions over the span of May - July 2023, emulating the sound and approach they take in their concerts. Initially meant to be a live album, it then was afterwards manipulated, deconstructed and assembled in new ways by Francisco in the post-production process, using Ableton as a tool to craft an album sound rooted in their live ethos but extended to something wholly unique."
